Accessibility Statement

Our target

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA where practical. Accessibility is treated as part of building the site, not a later addition.

What we have implemented

• Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and labelled navigation landmarks.
• Full keyboard operability, including the navigation menu, forms, cookie preferences and the intro film controls, with visible focus indicators.
• Colour contrast checked against our royal-blue palette, with light plates behind logos that would otherwise sit on low-contrast panels.
• Descriptive alternative text on images and accessible names on icon-only controls.
• Closed captions for our intro film, plus volume and mute controls.
• Form fields with visible labels, inline error messages and programmatic invalid states.
• Responsive layouts that work from small mobile screens upwards, with text that reflows when zoomed.

Known limitations

This site is in a trial and beta phase. The intro film has no separate audio description track, and some decorative artwork carries only minimal description. We are working on both.
